We don’t have airport transfers booked, how can we organise these?

We’ll be happy to arrange single or return airport transfers for you. Please get in touch as soon as you have your flight details and e-mail them to caroline@tgski.co.uk or the member of the team who you have been liaising with. Airport transfers vary in terms of price depending on the number of people travelling and we can organise shared transfers (on a minibus with up to 7 other people) or private transfers. To arrange your transfers we will require the following information:

Flight numbers (inbound and outbound), flight arrival and departure times, airline, contact number and if any children are travelling we will need to know if they require a car seat/booster.

We have airport transfers booked with TG Ski, what do we do once we arrive at Geneva airport?

We work with a partner company for our airport transfers and they manage all of the logistics when you arrive at Geneva. They will be expecting you, so as you come through into the arrivals hall from baggage reclaim, look out for a sign with the lead family name for your group (normally whoever has made your booking). If you have any trouble at the airport, you can us on +44 1625 400 060

HOW LONG IS THE TRANSFER FROM GENEVA AIRPORT?

The journey takes approximately 1 hour 10 minutes

I need to organise Ski hire

Many shops in town will offer ski hire. We recommend using Doorstep Skis, who provide a custom fit service in the comfort of your chalet. Their mobile service saves time and stress on your first day and all of our customers receive a discount on their booking.
Order online (http://www.doorstepskis.com/book/a/tg-ski) before you arrive and Doorstep skis will come to your chalet and fit your skis/Snowboard/boots/helmet either that evening or first thing the next morning (depending on what time you arrive in resort).

Can I pre-order my Lift-Pass?

Yes, we can save you the time and effort of queuing on a busy first morning and purchase your lift pass on your behalf. There is no additional cost for this service.

There is a section on the booking form for you to complete, just let us know which pass you would like and we can have it together with a piste map ready for you on your arrival. Payment can be made in advance by credit/debit card, bank transfer or in resort in Euros cash. Prices below include a 3€ mandatory charge for a hands-free pass.

We need to organise ski lessons, which ski school would you recommend?

Morzine-Avoriaz and Meribel have a number of very good ski schools, which offer both private and group lessons with English speaking teachers. For busy periods such as New Year and Half term it is advisable to book well in advance. Your instructor will tell you where to meet them. In Avoriaz this is usually at the top of the Prodains Cable car in Morzine, this is usually at the top of the Pleney bubble. In Meribel, there are a number of places this could be so it is best to check with the school directly when making the booking.  When booking your ski lessons it’s worth noting where the rest of your group will be skiing if you want to meet up afterwards.

During your stay

What time can we check-in? When do we check-out?

Your chalet host will be changing over the chalet for most of the day on a Sunday. You can arrive at the chalet any time after midday and you are welcome to leave your bags with us if you wish to head into town or up the mountain. However the chalet won’t usually be completed until 3pm.

Whatever time you arrive you will be given a warm welcome by your host and chef but please be understanding that if you arrive prior to 3pm and once they have made sure that you are comfortable, they will need to finish the chalet preparation to ensure that everything is perfect before you properly ‘move in’.

On your departure day, we ask that you vacate your room by 9.30am to allow your host to deep clean your room, we then ask that you leave the chalet by 10.30am. If your airport transfer is booked to collect you after this time, please speak to your hosts and they will arrange somewhere for you to leave your bags. I’m afraid that we can’t guarantee that you’ll be able to use any of the facilities after 10.30am, but will always try to be as accommodating as possible.

What time is breakfast served from/until?

We serve wake-up drinks from 7.30am onwards, which can be brought to your bedside or left outside your door if you prefer.

Breakfast is served from 8am until 9.30am. If you would like a lie-in and won’t be making it to breakfast in time, the chef and host will leave a continental breakfast laid out for you, but can’t offer a cooked option as they have other duties to complete after 9.30am.

What times will our driver be available?

Your driver can take you to the slopes in one of our TG Ski Minibuses (8 guests per vehicle) from 8am until 10.30 am. In the afternoon you can be picked up from 3pm until 6pm. Your driver will visit you each evening to check what time you wish to be picked up at the following morning and will also give you his/her mobile number. Priority is given to those with early morning ski lessons.

If you wish to start/finish outside of these times we do offer an on-call service throughout the day please ask for further details. Alternatively, you can always get the Super Morzine telecabine back down from Avoriaz which is an 8 minute walk from the chalet.

Do you offer Ski-hosting?

Unfortunately, due to recent legislation in France we are unable to offer a ski guiding/accompanying service. Our chalet team will however be happy to recommend to you routes around the Portes du Soleil and 3 Vallees ski area's and talk you through the piste maps with suggestions of runs, restaurants and other points of interest. Please ask them when you arrive.

Will an afternoon tea be served?

A freshly made cake, with baguettes, butter, jams, teas and coffee will be laid out by the chalet host and chef for you to help yourselves to when you return from skiing.

Will the children eat with us? Do you offer a children’s menu?

We offer a high tea for children under 12 years old, which is typically served at 6pm. Your child’s enjoyment of the food is as important as the rest of the group and we do have a menu designed around fresh ingredients and plenty of vegetables and fruit. However we know that each child will have likes/dislikes, so your chef will check with parents to find out what food their children would like. If you have any specific requests you can always email us in advance and one of the concierge team will ensure this information is passed onto the team in resort.

What time is dinner usually served?

A 3-course evening meal followed by a cheese board and port is served at 8pm. From around 7pm each evening there will be canapés served with champagne or a selection of premium spirits.

Please discuss with your chalet host and chef if you have any dietary requirements that you haven’t included on your booking form.

Are drinks included in the holiday package?

We spend a lot of time selecting wine for the chalet and provide a selection of upgraded quality wines for you to drink as and when you please, this isn’t rationed, so please enjoy. We also have a carefully selected wine list if you wish to try something a little more special. These items are at an additional cost, which can be settled at the end of your stay.

In our Summit Chalets bottled beer and soft drinks are also available at no additional cost. We also have a selection of cordials and juices for any children in the group.

In our Classic Chalet there is an honesty barwhich is stocked with beer, chocolate, cans of soft drinks and bottles of water. Each item is 1Euro. The chalet hosts will top this up each day and keep track of stock. There will be a sheet next to the honesty bar for you to mark down your items. The bill can be settled the night before departure.

What happens if something goes wrong, we get lost, have an injury or need help?

Our resort managers will come to the chalet at the beginning of your holiday to check that all is well. If you do have any problems at all during your stay, she will be on hand to help with anything you need.

Once you chalet hosts have completed their welcome briefing they will give you a several useful phone numbers including: piste safety, emergency contacts, local doctor’s surgery as well as our drivers and resort manager.

We have a birthday in our group during the stay, can you help with celebrations?

We always like to do something special for birthdays and we are happy to make a special cake, put up balloons or decorations for you. Please let us know before you arrive for any special requests.

We have someone in our group with a dietary requirement or food allergy, can you cater for them?

Yes, Your chef has experience in catering for specific dietary requirements; they can tailor the menu to you needs or remove any allergic foods from the chalet if necessary. Again, please let us know before you arrive so that we can prepare for your arrival.

The resort of Morzine:

Where is the nearest ski lift?

Your nearest ski lift is the Super Morzine telecabine. This is a 8 minute walk away across the suspension bridge. This takes you up to another chair lift and you can then make your way to Avoriaz. Alternatively your driver will take you direct to one of the main chair lifts:

To ski the Morzine/Les Gets/Nyon ski areas:

Ask your driver to take you to the Pleney, which is a 5-minute drive or 15 minute walk. If you look out of the lounge window of your chalet this is the piste facing you on the opposite side of town. This bubble will link you to the pistes of Morzine, Les Gets and Nyon. You can also access here by walking to the Super Morzine telecabine and getting the Petit Train across town (runs every 10 minutes and takes 5 minutes)

To ski the Avoriaz and rest of Portes du Soleil ski area:

Use either the Super Morzine telecabine or alternatively one of our drivers can take you up to Prodains (a 5-minute drive), which takes you to the new super-fast Prodains cable car or a chair lift. Both link you directly to Avoriaz and the rest of the huge Portes du Soleil including the Swiss side. We find that 70% of our guests choose this way.

What else is there to do in Morzine?
